Susan L. Meyers
National Media Relations Director
Susan L. Meyers is the Foundation's national media relations director,
using her years of experience as a high-profile journalist and conservative
commentator to help to bring the Foundation to the nation's media stage.
A recovering editorial writer and reporter who spent most of her career at
The Atlanta Journal, Ms. Meyers has been a school choice supporter for more
than a decade. Dubbed the "voucher queen" by former colleagues in Atlanta,
she departed the media world to manage communications strategies for the
likes of Newt Gingrich at the Center for Health Transformation, Georgia's
House Speaker, Speaker Pro Tem, Senate President Pro Tem, congressmen, Bush
administration officials and other non profits to name a few. She believes
she now has the perfect job, advocating the issue she so
passionately wrote hundreds of editorials and columns about for years.
A journalism graduate from University of Georgia, Ms. Meyers was a Pulitizer
Prize nominee, won several other awards and was a media fellow at the Hoover
Institution at Stanford University.
She and her husband Garrett, both animal lovers, reside with their three fur
kids -- a dog and two cats -- at their home in Atlanta's first suburb of
Decatur. She is a francophile and dreams of spending summers in France and
at her grandfather's village in Abruzzi, Italy.
