Brandon Dutcher is vice president for policy at the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, a public policy think tank. A native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Dutcher received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma. He received a master’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in public policy from Regent University.
Dutcher is the editor of Oklahoma Policy Blueprint, a 2002 book that was lauded by Milton Friedman as “thorough, well-informed, and highly sophisticated.” He has received eight awards for commentary from the Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists, the Excellence in Education Journalism Award from the Association of Professional Oklahoma Educators, and the Award of Outstanding Merit from the Amy Foundation. His articles have appeared in Investor’s Business Daily, the Sacramento Bee, The Oklahoman, the Tulsa World, the Cincinnati Enquirer, World magazine, and more than 175 newspapers throughout Oklahoma and the U.S. He is listed in the Heritage Foundation Guide to Public Policy Experts.
