Schedule a Speaking Engagement With Jeffrey E. Piccola
Jeff Piccola was born and raised in Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna Township and graduated from the public school system. He holds degrees from Gettysburg College and the George Washington University Law School. He has served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1977-1995) for the 104th Legislative District. Piccola is currently a Pennsylvania State Senator representing the 15th District for a third consecutive term. He is Chair of the State Government Committee and a member of the Pennsylvania Senate’s Community and Economic Development, Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Education, Judiciary, and Rules and Executive Nominations committees.
Piccola has been an advocate of charter schools, professional development for teachers, tenure, and sabbatical reform. He authored and secured passage of the “Education Empowerment Act,” landmark state legislation aimed at poorly performing school districts. He was a leader in creating the South Central Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Program, Inc., a scholarship organization that provides tuition assistance to families in the region. Piccola was the recipient of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees 2006 Leadership Award.
