Jim Stergios is Pioneer's Executive Director. Prior to joining Pioneer, he was Chief of Staff and Undersecretary for Policy in the Commonwealth's Executive Office of Environmental Affairs. For the state's Office for Commonwealth Development, he spearheaded urban revitalization efforts in major Massachusetts cities. He has written and been published widely on a wide range of policy issues, including in the area of education charter schools, academic standards, and accountability. His prior experience includes teaching at the university level and founding and managing his own business. Jim holds a doctoral degree in Political Science from Boston University.
