Martín Perez, President of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, is one of the most prominent and respected Latino leaders in the United States. Mr. Perez grew up in Puerto Rico and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Labor Studies. Perez earned a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Seton Hall University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Rutgers University Law School.
Mr. Perez’s many accomplishments include directing Project Puente at Middlesex County College, teaching and working in various positions at Rutgers University and as a trial attorney for the Office of the Public Defender in Hudson County. He was appointed by New Jersey governor Jon Corzine to the Blue Ribbon Immigrants Policy Panel and is Co-Chair of the Latino Advisory Council to the President of Rutgers University. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options (HCREO) and Excellent Education for Everyone (E-3).
