State Representative Matt Huffman is currently serving his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives where he was elected by his colleagues to serve as Majority Floor Leader of the 129th General Assembly. He represents the 4th House District, which includes all of Allen County. He currently serves on the Judiciary and Education Committees. He is also a member of the House State Government Committee where he chairs the Redistricting Subcommittee.

Representative Huffman is a partner with the law firm of Huffman, Kelley, Becker & Gottschalk, LLC, where he has practiced since 1985. He was elected to serve as Lima City Council President from 1998-2006 and was the Council’s 4th Ward representative for six years prior. He is a member of the Allen County and Ohio State Bar Associations, Knights of Columbus, Heartbeat of Lima, Lima Chamber of Commerce and B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 54.

During his time in the General Assembly, Representative Huffman has received the Watchdog of the Treasury Award and been honored by the Ohio State Medical Association with its Voice of Medicine Award.

Representative Huffman was born and raised in Lima and graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School in 1978. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Sheryl, live in Lima and have four children: Clare, Matthew, Ellen and Sam.
