Phil Moffett is a Louisville, Kentucky businessman, philanthropist, and former Republican primary candidate for Governor. Phil has a strong reputation for creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions in both the public and private sectors.
On the school choice front, Phil is a Kentucky pioneer having co-founded School Choice Scholarships; a privately funded scholarship program giving poor-performing, low-income children from Louisville the opportunity to attend private schools. Since 1998, School Choice Scholarships has granted over 3,600 scholarships and the turnaround in student performance for reading and math are profound. School Choice Scholarships is one of the largest privately-funded voucher programs in the United States.
He co-founded CCS Partners in 2002, a successful wireless telecommunications management firm in Louisville. Phil continues today as the Managing Partner at his firm.
A University of Kentucky graduate, Phil has lived nearly all of his life in Louisville. He and his wife Christi have four adopted children.
