The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice

Advancing Milton and Rose D. Friedman's Vision of School Choice for All Children

Friedman Day 2013

RI Center for Freedom and Prosperity

Event Description
Essay contest with a private youth group in the city of Providence, People United for Change. High school students and young adults will submit a brief essay on how "school choice" might have changed their lives or could change the life of someone close to them. The contest will be promoted privately within the organization, and at their annual meeting on June 22, giving writers 3-5 weeks to submit their entries. The winners will be announced on July 31 at a ceremony at the organizations HQ, with the top-2 entries winning an I-Pad, donated by a member of our Center's Board. The winning entries will be posted on our new, marketing website: . We are also hoping that a local radio morning-talk show host will agree to read the winning entries on the air that day, perhaps inviting the winners in-studio.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP by 17:00 on 07/17/2013
