Private School Choice

South Carolina has two private school choice programs, a tax-credit scholarship and a refundable tax credit. These programs help families send their children to participating private schools.

Public School Choice

South Carolina has inter-district public school choice, which allows students to transfer to traditional public schools outside their district. South Carolina also has magnet schools.

Charter Schools

South Carolina has some charter schools. Charter schools are publicly funded schools that are free of many of the regulations that restrict traditional public schools.
