The EFA program provides state-funded accounts to help Arkansas families cover tuition, fees, and other qualified education expenses at participating private or home schools.
Starting with the 2025–26 school year, all K–12 Arkansas students are eligible for the EFA program, regardless of income or prior school enrollment.
The application window is open now. Apply now through August 3, 2025.
Note: The application portal will be closed from May 26-June 1.
Families can apply through the Arkansas Department of Education’s website by accessing the EFA application portal.
Approved EFA funds for the 2025–26 school year will be available starting July 1, 2025.
Most students will receive $6,864 for the 2025–26 school year.
EFA funds can be used for tuition, fees, uniforms, instructional materials, tutoring services, curricula, supplemental supplies, certain technology devices, transportation costs, and fees for college courses.
The Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education oversees the EFA program.
