Our #schoolchoiceWISH: That School Choice Opponents Would Answer This Question Already

The Friedman Foundation team reaches out to school choice opponents regularly on Twitter (@edchoice). Our intention is always to listen to different opinions and have a meaningful conversation.

One question that school choice opponents continually skirt is: If your child’s safety were at risk in your zoned public school, what would you do?

Why do they refuse to put themselves in another’s shoes? You decide and tell us in the comments. Here’s one exchange from yesterday that really stood out, coincidentally in time for today’s#schoolchoiceWISH campaign on Twitter hosted by the Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options, the Black Alliance for Educational Options and the redefinED blog.

Please spread the word about these attitudes by sharing this post on your social media. And don’t forget to ask this question to every school choice skeptic you meet. Maybe one day one of them will answer it.
