Here at EdChoice, freedom and justice drive our mission.
We want to shatter the historic inequality that defines our K-12 education system—a system that was designed by those with privilege and means, leaving behind generations of low-income students and entire communities of color.
That enormous goal feels small right now.
We watched George Floyd’s murder in shock. We stand with the Black community against racism and violence. We stand together as allies because we believe Black Lives Matter.
Our hearts are lifted by the peaceful protests that have blanketed our nation. Now more than ever, we have a duty to question authority. We must not accept things the way they are because they always have been that way.
But without action, these words are just words.
For our part, we will continue to fight against oppression and for educational equality in the United States.
Where you go from here—how and when you decide to effect change—is your personal journey. Know that you are not alone. We are in this together.
