Oklahoma

Oklahoma offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including three private school choice programs, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and inter-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

Private School Choice

Oklahoma has three private school choice programs, a school voucher, an individual tax credit/deduction, and a tax-credit scholarship. The program helps some families send their children to participating private schools.

Public School Choice

Oklahoma has an inter-district open enrollment policy, which allows some students to transfer to traditional public schools outside their district. Oklahoma also has magnet schools.

Charter School Choice

Oklahoma has a few charter schools. Charter schools are publicly funded schools that are free of many of the regulations that restrict traditional public schools.

Home School Choice

Parents have to follow certain laws in Oklahoma when homeschooling their children.
