U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands territory has two school districts operated by the U.S. u003ca href=u0022http://vide.vi/u0022u003eVirgin Islands Department of Educationu003c/au003e. The St. Thomas/St. John School District consists of 11 elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools. The St. Croix School District consists of 10 elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools. There are also at least 12 private schools operated by religious denominations and private entities. As far as we know, no local legislators have ever proposed an educational choice program.

Private School Choice

The U.S. Virgin Islands do not have a private school choice program.

Public School Choice

The U.S. Virgin Islands doesn’t have open enrollment policies, but it does have at least one magnet school.

Charter School Choice

U.S. Virgin Islands does not have charter schools.

Home School Choice

Parents have to follow certain laws in U.S. Virgin Islands when homeschooling their children.
