Katherine was born and raised in South Texas. After graduating from McAllen High School, she earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin (UT).
After graduating from UT, Katherine spent the nest 10 years working in the Texas Legislature. She served as a Chief of Staff to two members, and then became the Policy Director of the Texas House Republican Caucus.

Inspiration for Joining the Educational Choice Movement
Growing up on the South Texas border, I saw students in need of educational options that met them exactly where they were. Instead, I witnessed a system which time and time again was unable to serve all the unique needs of individual students. A single system cannot specialize or excel. Creating more options for parents and students is the solution.
